Are you having a hard time hearing what people are saying?

Problems with poor acoustics are a major problem in many rooms, but a slat wall or ceiling enables you to create acoustic wellbeing for yourself and the people you surround yourself with.

Sound consists of waves and when the sound hit a hard surface it continues to reflect back into the room, which creates reverberation.

However, the acoustical panels breaks and absorbs the sound waves when it hits the felt and the lamellas.

Hereby it prevent the sound from reflecting back into the room, which ultimately eliminates reverberation.

If you’ve ever experienced the frustration of trying to hold a conversation in a room with poor acoustics, you’ll appreciate the difference that acoustic panels can make. Sound quality is paramount in any space, whether it’s your cozy living room, a bustling office, or a vibrant restaurant. Acoustic wood panels work wonders in improving sound clarity by effectively absorbing and diffusing sound waves.

When sound waves hit hard surfaces, they tend to bounce back, creating echoes and a jarring auditory experience. However, our acoustic panels feature a specially developed acoustic felt made from recycled materials.

This innovative material is designed to absorb sound waves and dampen noise, ensuring that every word spoken becomes crystal clear for everyone in the room. With our panels in place, there is no more pretending to have heard what has been said and already repeated three times – phew.

With mineral wool the panels elevate to sound class A, blending unbeatable sound control with sleek design. That’s the highest possible rating a product can achieve within acoustic sound absorbtion.

Wondering why everyone’s raving about Akupanels?

In an official soundtest our Akupanel reached the highest rating possible – Sound Class A.

In order to reach Sound Class A, you have to install mineral wool behind the panels (check out our installation guide).

However, you can also install the panels directly on your wall, and by doing so the panels will reach Sound Class D, which is also very effective when it comes to dampening the sound.

As you can see on the graph the panels are most effective at frequencies between 300 Hz and 2000 Hz, which are the common noice levels that most people are experiencing.

In reality this means that the panels will dampen both high and deep sounds.

The graph below is based on acoustic panels mounted on a 45 mm. batten with mineral wool behind the panels.

While the acoustic benefits of our panels are paramount, we understand that aesthetics play a crucial role in interior design. You want your living spaces to reflect your unique style and personality. Whether you prefer classic neutrals, bold statement colors, or anything in between, our panel colors are specifically designed to complement various interior design styles.

When choosing the right color for your acoustic wood panels, consider the existing color palette in your space. Harmonizing the colors can create a cohesive and visually pleasing environment.

For a minimalist and clean look, opt for neutral tones that match the already existing colors in the room. If you want to make a bold statement, consider deeper shades or colors that can act as focal points in your room. If in doubt and before making the final decision, you can order our color samples.

Styles to Complement Your Space

In addition to color, the style of the acoustic wood panels also plays a crucial role in achieving the desired aesthetic. Our panels feature lamellas of different lengths, adding a dynamic and textural element to your walls or ceilings. The slats are mounted on a base of acoustic felt, providing both functionality and beauty.

The length of the acoustic panels contribute to the overall look and feel of your space. Thinner acoustic panels with closer spacing can create a sleek and modern appearance, while thicker panels with wider spacing can introduce a more rustic or industrial vibe. And the best part is – it’s all your choice.
