It is super easy to mount the panels, and most people can mount the panels all by themselves. If you just have the smallest craftsman hidden in you, and know how to use a saw and a screwdriver, then you should also be able to mount the panels yourself. Some of our customers prefer to get professional to help installing the panels. Since the product is easy to work with, any professional can help you set up the panels, even if they have not tried it before. We recommend that you contact your local carpenter or similar if you need help with the installation. You can also take a look at our installation instructions and videos – you can find it here >>
Yes it is super easy. The panels can be cut with any saw (we recommend a circular saw), and if you need to cut the panel through the felt, this can be done with a hobby knife. It doesn’t get easier.
The type of screws you need depends on the type of wall the panels are to be mounted on. In some cases, wall plugs are required for the installation to last. You need to find screws that can work with the material your wall is made of. As a rule of thumb, we recommend black screws, as the mounting will be invisible on the black felt.
You can easily mount the panels directly on a surface – you do not necessarily have to put it up on a formwork. If you struggle with bad acoustics, we would recommend that you mount it on a 45 mm. formwork with mineral wool behind. You can read more about acoustics in this blog post we have made >>
You can mount the acoustic panels on all surfaces, including brick and concrete walls, etc. You can either glue them to the wall or use screws. Check out the installation guide to learn how to install the panels >>
Yes, it is possible to mount the panels with glue – it is a somewhat more permanent solution than with screws. Since it is a strong adhesive that you need to use, the wall can be damaged if the panels have to be taken down one day.
We don’t recommend using the Akupanels in rooms where they are likely to get in direct contact with liquids, since the wood can be damaged by humidity and water.
If you have sockets or electrical outlets etc. on a wall the best solutions is to cut a hole in the panels and install the outlets on surface of the Akupanels. In the video called “how to make a headboard” you can find some images for inspiration right here >>
Yes, you can bend the panels around curves. The felt is made from recycled plastic and is very flexible, which enables you to bend the panels around curvy corners. You can find examples of that on our Instagram page – @woodupp_com or in this link >>
Yes it’s no problem – you can e.g. cut a groove in the felt which the cable can be put into.

Ordering & Payment
We can unfortunately not handle special cuts in our production – we can only produce the panels in a standard dimension of 240 x 60 cm.
However you can easily cut the them yourself. The panels can be cut with any saw (we recommend a circular saw) and if you need to shorten the panel in the width, you can cut down through the felt with a hobby knife. Super easy!
Yes of course you can! You can order samples through the webshop – you can find the samples right here >>
You can pay by creditcard, Klarna, PayPal or Apple pay when you order via the webshop.
You can place the order through our webshop – you can see our collection here >>
It may be possible, but it takes a little technical ingenuity to succeed. – This will probably mean that you must have made a little extra distance between the rails, among other things. so that the panels do not run into each other.
We have previously seen a few examples where people have used our panels as sliding doors – you can find some inspirational pictures here >>
Yes, you can – you can either put it on an existing door or on a plate (mdf or similar) to give the panel support and so you can put brackets on the door.
You can find some inspirational pictures here >>
You can clean the panels with a duster, a vacuum cleaner or a hard-wrung cloth.
No the panels are not treated with anything – the wood is all natural.
Yes, they are more or less. Of course this always depends on the colour quality of your screen. That’s why we always recommend that you request a sample box before ordering, so that you can see the colours live in your home.
Yes the Akupanel is only suitable for indoor use.
We are planning to add a new product to our range. An end lamella as wall ending. This lamella is covered with the surface on 3 sides. This will be available in a thickness of 22mm (if the panel is mounted directly on the wall) or 67mm (if sound insulation class A shall be achieved and the recommended 45mm battens are placed behind the panels).
No unfortunately not we only have black or grey.
No unfortunately not, we only have the colors you will find on our webshop.
Yes we do indeed! You can order them here >>
It’s no problem if you have a wall that is above 240 cm – the panels can easily be mounted on top of each other, to achieve the length you want. You can see examples of this right here >>
No unfortunately not – we can only produce the panel in a standard dimension of 240 x 60 cm due to our raw materials and production machinery.
The panel measures 2400x600x22 mm (height*width*depth)
The panels can unfortunately not stop sound in wandering from room to room. The main purpose of our panels is to prevent the sound waves from being reflected back into the room by absorbing reverberation, in the room they are installed in.
If you want help calculating how many panels you need for your project, then you can try our calculator which can be found under the product – here you just have to enter the height and width of the surface and our calculator tells you how many panels you need.
You are also welcome to message or call us – then we will of course assist you! 🙂
A good rule of thumb is that you approx. need to cover the equivalent of 25% of the floor area of the room with a sound-absorbing material to obtain good acoustics.
We highly recommend reading a blog post we made about acoustics – you can find it here >>
No, the slats are made of MDF with a veneer surface
The Akupanel consist of a 9 mm. Acoustic felt which the slats are attached to. The felt is made of recycled plastic, mainly from plastic bottles. The slats are made of MDF with a veneer surface. Al the wood we use comes from sustainable forestry. The forrest is allowed to reproduce more trees than what is being cut. At the same time we ensure good conditions for the workers and the plant- and wildlife in the forrest.
You can see the composition of the panel here >>
We produce all of our products in our own factory in Ribe, Denmark.
