We created the Tonal Akupanels to explore something new: a way to bring wood and felt together in a more harmonious way.
Each panel in the Tonal series features a tone-on-tone aesthetic where the felt and wood complement each other instead of contrast. The result is subtle, sophisticated, and calming.
Unlike the sharp contrasts of traditional Akupanels, Tonal panels have a soft, layered look. Perfect for spaces where you want the walls to feel like part of the architecture, not just a background.
Whether it’s smoked oak paired with burnt felt or pale woods with soft greys, Tonal is designed to blend beautifully with Scandinavian interiors and contemporary palettes.
This is design that feels thoughtful. And sounds just as good.
Each panel is made from:
- Acoustic felt backing made from recycled plastic bottles (PET)
- Real wood veneer – adds texture and warmth
- MDF core – from sustainable forestry (European-certified)
Akupanels are designed to be easy to install, whether you’re doing a full wall or just a section.
You can install them using:
- Screws (with or without visible heads)
- Glue (for a permanent setup)
Each panel is modular and fits together using tongue-and-groove edges, so you get a seamless finish with no visible gaps.

Vertical mounted panels:
Max. weight in area 60×60 cm is 40 kg.
Horizontal mounted panels:
Max. weight in area 60×60 cm is 5 kg.
Tonal panels offer the same high-level sound absorption as all Akupanels.
- Class A sound absorber when mounted with 45 mm mineral wool behind
- Reduces echo and improves acoustics in both small and large spaces
- Ideal for living rooms, offices, bedrooms, studios, and open-plan areas
The acoustic felt is tested to EN 13501-1, rated B-s1, d0 — one of the best ratings available for interior materials.
