Melissa Trentemøller's story

Melissa and her husband had many thoughts about how their dream home should look like and therefore they decided to build it from scratch. As soon as they found their current location they knew that it was perfect for their family.

They are very social people and like gathering friends and family – therefore it was important for them to create big and open rooms with space for everybody.

This is the story about Melissa

Melissa House Tour

Home is an important base for the family

Melissa studies to be a pedagogue and wants to work with those who need the help the most.

She loves interior design and keeps herself updated in all the design trends. From these trends she gets her inspiration to what she wants to do in her home in order to create the best possible atmosphere for her and her family.

The Trentemøller family consist of very social people and they love having guests over in their beautiful home. Their social interests have left a big mark on how the home looks today – it was important that it was a place for everyone to be gathered and have a lovely time together.

Lived in a caravan a year in the front garden

We live in this lovely house that my husband Kasper built for us.

We built it in 2015 where we lived in a caravan a year in the front yard

Now we have the dream house and the dream plot that we wanted.

This is what it sounds like from Melissa as she happily tells about the journey towards their dream home. It is obvious she is proud of the result which is very understandable.

They are not only happy with the home but also with the surroundings. They are close to nature and institutions which was important for the family when they chose the location.

A future-proof house with big surfaces

It was important for the family that the house was future-proof meaning that when their kids grew older they could have their own part of the home and the parents another part to ensure space for every individual. Furthermore it was important to have a huge room for guests and families to be gathered. All of this came down to the decision that they wanted to make their home L-shaped.

An outstanding entrance

As you enter the Trentemøller home you walk into the huge kitchen and dining room with high ceilings. You see beautiful furniture, lovely plants, beautiful pictures and acoustical panels on both the ceiling and the wall that make the overall impression of the room amazing and outstanding.

Big surfaces created bad acoustics

Melissa tells that before they had the acoustical panels on their wall and ceilings they had some other acoustical plates – but they weren’t enough in their big kitchen and dining table so they had to find a different solution. That’s when Melissa found WoodUpp and luckily the panels were able to remove the reverberation in the room.

To this Melissa says the following:

We no longer have any problems with reverberation and which is just really great

so now we can have our friends and family come visit and be here all together so that is amazing.

The acoustical panels are a huge hit

It was online Melissa found information about how great acoustical panels can be to remove reverberation in big rooms. Therefore she contacted a few carpenters to hear their opinions about the subject and they immediately said “go” for the idea.

So hereafter we found WoodUpp and ordered colour samples in order to figure out what kind of wood suited our home the best and we fell for the bright sort. We think it’s ended up really well and fits perfectly in our home. It gives some warmth and nature in a way that fits in our bright room. So that’s really nice.

She used the panels to make the gable, ceiling and a headboard:

Positive response online

After the mounting of the Akupanels the family received many compliments on how beautiful the home had become. However, the compliments were not only from family and friends.

Melissa often posts pictures of the gable, wall and headboard on Instagram on her account @m_trentemoeller. She received many positive comments from people that praise her taste in interior design.

After we chose to install these panels in both the ceiling as a gable but also in our bedroom we have received really positive reactions. Not just from friends and family but also on Social Media.
